nicaragua: the 40-year revolution

In 1979, the oppressive Somoza dictatorship in Nicaragua was overthrown by the Sandinista National Liberation Front. No sooner had the Sandinistas taken power then a new war began against the U.S.-backed Contras. On its 40th anniversary, the revolution in Nicaragua rages on.

redfitz, in partnership with the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University, is working to bring the complete story of the revolution in Nicaragua and the role the United States played and continues to play in it to the screen.
